What’s In A Name? Only EVERYTHING!
Two weeks ago on January 6th, I said I DO! And I couldn't be happier! Introducing...
Mr. & Mrs. Mark and Cathy Johnson
Second chances and opportunities are a gift - and I am grateful for this man I call my soulmate.
One of the things that is changing is my name. (what? really? seriously?) YES!
When I posted on social media that I was going to be the new Mrs. Mark Johnson, or Cathy Johnson, I had mixed responses.
“No Cathy, don’t change it. It’s who you are.”..
… and “Don’t do that – you have a brand.” … and others.
But here is the thing… first, Alessandra is my previous married name, not my maiden name. It’s a season I am leaving behind as I move forward.
Second, I’m beginning a new chapter – no, actually a whole new book – married to a man I love deeply. He didn’t require me to change my name. I chose him and I choose to take his name. We are even exploring some work together.
And lastly, for me to be fully aligned in my values, my why, my adventure, my journey, my sharing with others, changing my last name to reflect my new circumstances was a no brainer. I am who I am.
What’s in a name? Only everything I stand for… freedom, alignment, joy, new beginnings and second chances.
I will continue to be me in all my sparkly blinged out Mrs. Johnson style - and I encourage you to be the bold, authentic YOU that only you can be!
What about you?
What are you NOT doing because of what others think or say? You might be afraid to rock the boat or worried someone won’t like something. Here is what I encourage you to ask yourself….
Does what I am doing align with my why and my values?
Why am I considering NOT doing “the thing”?
What is the impact/ramifications/results of doing it?
The answers to these questions helped me determine the answer to my question - and it will for you too.
